DRAINAGE AND PAVING
Stormwater Infrastructure Drainage Project
Your Board is actively working on an extensive and proactive Stormwater Infrastructure project – spending dedicated Reserve Funds to service aging Stormwater infrastructure. We’re making good progress, projecting the completion date this fall. “RED-immediate” items are almost complete. “YELLOW-must monitor” items will proceed in August. This is a large project. It will take time and patience. We appreciate your continued support. Thankfully the majority of our storm infrastructure is in “GREEN-good” condition. Stay safe this Hurricane season!
The waterways within Jacaranda West are a major community asset. However, these waterways are NOT spring-fed natural lakes. They are rainwater retention ponds, specifically designed and constructed to control and prevent the overflow of seasonal rainfall. It is essential that heavy rainfall onto our streets has clear drainage pathways to enter and exit to these waterways. Since the majority of our waterways and stormwater drainage system is on our HOA property, our HOA is responsible for their maintenance.
Do you know where the water comes from for our beautiful “Claw Lake”, and where it goes? Want to find out where stormwater drainage flows are in the event of large rainwater downpours?
Here are maps of our community’s drainage:

Scheduled to be resurfaced the week of November 10, 2025 are South Doral, South Cypress, and East Cypress. Expected to be resurfaced in following years are North Doral, North Cypress, Flametree, and Pebble Beach. Improvements in bid specs have been made to achieve longer pavement lives and lower long-term costs. We also freshened up the Jacaranda West Country Club Village guardhouse on May 10, 2025. Thank you to the many volunteers that completed the project.
